HOW TO BOOST YOUR WI-FI

NBN FAQS
What download speed will I achieve?

The NBN download speed you can achieve at your premise is influenced by many factors. How close you are to the node and the quality and age of the copper running from the node to your premises are determiners of network speed.

What network technology will be used to connect my premises?

The NBN network uses a range for technologies to deliver higher internet speeds across Australia. NBN aims to deliver at least 50Mbps download speeds to 90% of fixed line premises.

METRO AREAS

NBN FIBRE TO PREMISES (FTTP)

This where a fibre optic line is installed all the way to your premises

NBN FIBRE TO NODE (FTTN)

Fibre is installed in a newly built cabinet nearby on the street and then connected to the existing copper network

NBN FIBRE TO BUILDING (FTTB)

Fibre is installed to a building. The fibre is connected to a cabinet in the building.

HYBRID nbn FIBRE COAXIL (HFC)

This is used where the existing cable network can be  used to reach the premises

REGIONAL AREAS

WIRELESS

nbn Fixed wireless is a connection where data is sent from a transmission tower and travels wireless to an antenna that has been fitted by a nan approved installer to the premises roof

SATELLITE

Some remote and rural locations services over the nbn network can be delivered via satellite. A satellite dish is installed on the premises and receives the nbn network signal from satellite
